Good entry level option, bought a pair for my wife and I, uncomplicated assembly, nice looking bikes. One came with saddle/seat bent frame and scratched, but seller helped with replacement. Comes with front and rear reflective pads and mud flaps, also spring buzzer, as optional assembly items, wasn’t expecting those, nice add-ons.

Great Bike So Far. Looks Even Better In Person. The paint has metallic flakes that really pops and isn’t visible in the ad. Only con is brake assembly in the front was a pain in the A** to adjust probably will require 2 people to get front tire on and adjust brakes. other than that Great bike you wont be disappointed.

Made this purchase and I am happy with it . Each of us need to understand when making purchases with anything on line or in store , it¡¯s a gamble period ! Many of us have different likes and dislikes but that doesn¡¯t make it horrible for everyone. I¡¯m 5¡¯5¡± 145lbs and this is a perfect fit . Arrived mostly assembled. Will take it to the bike shop to be adjusted and tightened before riding. I¡¯ve purchased ouloo for several years for my children as teens . They are now grown and I¡¯m glad I did this for myself . The price is right and I am satisfied.
Will update later regarding the performance of this particular mongoose model .

Love the bike design and functionality.
It is hard to align the front tired to center the disk brakes. The brake wheel touches the stationery side of the brake caliper and pad.
I aired the tire up to 40 psi as the markings say 40-60psi. Left the house for a few hours and came back to an exploded innertube.
All in all it seems to be a good bike. Have not ridden it yet though so that’s the max of my knowledge.
Update, put a new innertube made sure the tire was set properly and it did the same thing in under 20 minutes as second pic shows.

The bike went together pretty easily, however if you’re not experienced or mechanically inclined, find someone who is.
The brakes were perfect, well centered and no rubbing.
Bike came with two manuals, one English, one German for some reason.
English manual was sort of generic but applied to this bike as well.
Tires were badly under inflated but no big deal and doesn’t affect initial assembly.
Gears were pre-setup perfectly. Chain is not off to one side at all, dead center on sprockets.
This is a beginner bike but I’m astounded at the quality (first impressions).
So far I’ve only ridden around the lawn so I can’t speak to how it would hold up if you beat the snot out of it, but at this price it’s a winner.
I did swap our the seat for a comfort model but that’s a personal preference.
Overall I’m quite pleased with the bike and may try one of the Highland road bikes next.

The quality of bike is good for the price. Just remember you save money by doing assembly yourself. Assembly was not so hard, but requires knowledge on bike. If you’re not confident on assembling a bike and tune it, go to bike shop.
Customer service is great. They react very quickly on my requests.

This bike is good and very easy to assemble. The first bike I received had a bent fork and Amazon replaced it right away. The second bike had a missing part but the seller was very quick with getting me the replacement part also.
The bike rides nicely and is perfect for casual use. It seems to be built very well and it shouldn’t have any problems with me taking it on casual trails.

I bought this bike to ride with my kids. It’s a beautiful and solid bike and didn’t have to give one of my eyes or hands for it. The brake disc of the front wheel came a little bent, so there was friction with the brake. I took it to a bike shop and they set it straight. If it wasn’t for that, I would’ve been a 5-star review.

Features like shocks are awesome at this price point. Solid bike, not too heavy, good quick release brakes, and easily assembled, though I¡¯m a grown man who has fixed my own bike many times. The colors are radical to the extreme though, so an older teen might look at it like it¡¯s a big wheel; my preteen is almost there.

The instruction manual should be a couple sheets of paper relevant to the bike model in the box ¡ª the manual is for every permutation.
It is fairly easy to assemble given that most of it is done in the box, but as other reviewers have suggested ¡ª take your time to adjust every setting and tighten every bolt. The disc brakes were rubbing ¡ª jumped on YouTube and fixed it right away.
I found a faulty link on the chain which required a chain tool to repair (not included), so I took it to the local bike shop the next day and had it fixed in 5 minutes ¡ª thank you Maplewood Bike Shed!
Overall, a great deal and I will definitely buy another.

Great bike. My son loves it. Only complaint was adjusting the derailer assembly, which required removal of a set screw that was insanely tight. So tight, that my hex key broke and the screw needed to be drilled, extracted, and replaced. That said, the rest of the assembly was great. I spoke with Mongoose about the issue and they made it right. I would definitely do business with them again. It is nice to see a company stand behind their products.

Bought for 12 year old daughter and she loves it. Cool looks, easy to assemble, gears already fully adjusted and everything worked as it should. Front suspension travel is just right for normal use. Having said all that, I can’t recommend this bike as a tough boys offroader. Fine for Forrest paths but don’t expect it to jump rocks for long.

I can’t really comment on the bike in terms of what it would be like riding on rough trails. I bought as a street bike for the fat tires as I figured they would be more stable on the road. I like the bike as it is very attractive. I had a bit of a problem adjusting the brakes and one problem putting it together. As some folks noted in their review, the handlebars appear to be on backwards where the gear numbers are facing away from the rider. However, they just need to be rotated so the numbers face the rider (see page 45 of owner’s manual.) They are probably put that way to protect the bike during shipment. In order to rotate them, if you squat down, you will see the hex nut located in the middle of the handlebars when you are facing the bike. The nut needs to be loosened with a 6mm hex tool. The factory tightened it so much I couldn’t get it loosened in order to make the adjustment. The hex nut is round so you can’t grab it with pliers, and I didn’t want to strip the nut. I had the idea to cover my brake/gear wires with a towel to protect them…then blast the nut with my blow drier about an inch away on the hottest temp for about 20 seconds or so. It came right out so if you have the same problem, give this a try!

First of all, just to clarify that for a bike under $300 I was not expecting something spectacular with high end components. However, this bike has surpassed my expectations by far. I am a weekend family biker, so it is a perfect bike for me.
I have to say that I was very frustrated in the beginning because the gear and the break settings were horribly off … the wheels were binding on the breaks and the chain was falling off the gears … so, I spent quite some time reading instructions and looking for videos how to adjust gears and breaks. But, once done (after a few hours total work) I am very happy with it! Plus, I am now an expert in bike adjustments :-).

The bike is flashy and comfortable. I am glad I purchased this bike from Hiland.
I have owned this bike so far less than a week and I have a story about the company that shows the level of quality and support they offer their customers, which is exceptional. When I received my bike, a screw was missing from the handlebar stem. Without hesitation the company sent via USPS priority mail a complete new stem. Completely unexpected and extremely supportive.
When riding I noticed the brakes needed adjustments and the shifting for front and rear derailleurs needed adjusting. Again without hesitation Hiland said to find a local bike shop, have the adjustments made and send us the invoice and we will process a refund in the amount of repairs. AND THEY DID!!
A great company I will definitely purchase their products again. They back their bikes and stand by them. I don’t write reviews very often but these guys deserve the highest praise. Like I said I will be purchasing from them again.
